Our sports programs at the Y are the perfect combination of the first two folds of our slogan- healthy living and youth development- what better way to train kids physically and mentally then by engaging them in SPORTS?! At the Y we love to play… and we do our best to offer plenty of outlet for that each season.
Ages: 6- 8 years, 9-11 years, 12 -14 years,
Practices: M, T, Th, F.
Season: December 1st - March 31st
Registration: December 2nd - December 19th
Prices: $50 (members), $75 (non-members)
Early bird registration: November 1st - December 1st
Prices: $45 (members), $75 (non-members)
Preseason practice for all ages during December.
Team practices begin January 4th
Games begin January 9th
Ages: 3-5 years
Practices and games are every Saturday 9am-10am.
Ages: 3-6 years
The program is every Saturday for six weeks.
Women's Self Defense:
Ages: Must be at least 16
The class will run for six weeks beginning September 8th. The class will focus on specialized simulation techniques where participants experience self-defense through the motions of the aggressor and potential victim.
Swim Team: River Otters
A popular activity at our YMCA is the Swim Team, kids return year after year to be a Danville River Otter!
Below you will find excerpts from the Swim Team Handbook available for parents. The Fall Swim Team starts Monday October 26th and runs until the first week of March 2016.
Swim Team Fees
YMCA membership is required for all swimmers to participate on the swim team. The yearly membership for youth is $180.00 all fees must be paid at the front desk. The fees for the 2015-2016 swim team season are $300.00 this will include swim suit and swim cap. The fees may be paid in full or two separate payments.
For families with more than one child:
